Dinner can be expensive sometimes.
I learned a good tip from one of my friends on how to make dinner just a little less expensive.
Order a water with a lemon slice in it, squeeze the juice from the lemon into the water and add two packets of sugar. Spelnda, Sweet&Low, whatever your preference. My preference is sweet and low. It makes the drink a lot sweeter.

I could spew all of this information about elephants that I learned in zoology for you all but I'll spare you the trivia.
I like elephants. I love that they are so strong, yet so gentle and they have such a lovable appearance about them that you can't help but feel some sort of childish-adoration for them. The greats were elephants; Dumbo, Mrs. Jumbo, Babar, and Hathi (the colonel elephant in The Jungle Book). He's my favorite.
"Espirit de Corps. That's the way I earned my commission in the Majarajah's Fifth Pachyderm Brigade. Back in '88 it was. Or... or was it?"

That flower is from a bouquet my mom got from my godmother. It's a pretty bouquet.
Happy Mother's Day to any mothers reading my blog.
I hope your kids got you nice cards and presents that you can show off to all your friends. They'll really love that. And I hope your kids behave themselves and remember that today is your day. Unless they are a senior who has to finish making projects for a reading book for his/her english class. If so, then I hope you feel sorry for them.

Every time I go to the Hoover Dam I always love the color of the water and the shape of the towers. What I don't like is that the water level seems to go down SO much since the last time I visited.
Yesterday was a beautiful day and I wanted to take some nice pictures. This one's one of my favorites because the color of the water was so beautiful in contrast to the color of the towers and the sky.
I love water.

My camera has a macro feature and I freely admit that I am addicted to that feature. Detailed, zoomed-in photos are my FAVORITE. It's eye-pleasing for me to see the tiny detail in simple things like wood.

There's something about Scrabble that makes me enjoy putting scrambled letters together to try to make words that are long enough to reach the triple word space. I like word puzzles and sudoku and crosswords. I want a Nintendo DS just to have the Brain Age game. Way to be my father's daughter right?

If you're ever in Las Vegas, head to China Town down Spring Mountain and go to Tea Station and order a mixed fruit tea with boba. You can thank me later for the explosion of dopamine that you recieve in your body because you just drank the most amazing drink of your life.

Last Saturday I went to Fashion Show Mall on the strip for a walk for the Children's Heart Foundation ["Walk with the heart of a child"] and it was a lot of fun! I love the types of people who show up at any kind of walk like this. They're always so positive and motivating. It's really a treat to be around that kind of environment after living in a one-person-for-themselves kind of life.

It's always a nice feeling when I stumble on some little treasure as I look for something I need in my house. I spent some time looking for decorative things for a birthday card I was making for my friend back in December 'till I found a bag of marbles. They weren't the spherical marbles...they're like mancala marbles.
I organized them and separated the plain white from the rest and make a "pearl" necklace.

Haha, random ideas.

I went to the Hot Air Balloon Festival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on January 12th. What a day me and my parents had. I had never seen a hot air balloon up close before, nor have I had the chance to stand inside one. I liked the "balloon glow" that they all did simultaneously. Definitely made me smile.
We left a bit early to beat the crowd but that didn't make any difference at all because we spend a half n' hour to find the Buick in the enormous parking lot. It was cold and dark. Thank god me and my parents have optimistic Type B personalities [some more than others *cough ME cough*] because I'm sure a pessimistic Type A would've blown a fuse.
But anyways...we found the car and left to pick up some glorious Dunkin' Dounuts.

My old camera broke back in November so I went on a trip to Best Buy with the parents in search for a new camera. We entered with open minds and open eyes. It wasn't until a best buy guy named Tristan came and gave me a hand at picking the camera that would soon be perfect for me. The deal maker happened when he shows me that I could choose colors to stand out from black and white.
Now I think of the blue-eyed Tristan whenever switch to this setting on my camera.
Thanks Tristan...wherever and whoever you are.

I think my mind is sometimes prone to pause and think, "would this make a good picture?" I could look at something, and want to take a picture of it because I like the shape or the colors. Or I'll come up with pictures in my head already and try to replicate it in real life.

Homecoming this year was pretty interesting.
The days prior to the night were ridiculous. My friends, as amazing as they are, cannot agree on ANYTHING. I'm not even exaggerating.
But anyways, I had fun. We were without Gabi though. Still unsure why she didn't come with us.
The picture above is my purse of the night. It was in the bathroom stall at The Paris.

One summer morning, I woke up and decided to clean out my closet.
After about an hour of sorting [and having a short attention span because the radio kept playing crap-songs], I found these leggings...or whatever they are.
They were actually one long thing when I found them. I remember making one long tube of cloth to stuff with coins because I had no idea what else to do with the fabric.
I spent a good amount of time thinking about what to do with it untill I just decided to cut them in half and put them on my feet......because that's what I do with all the random pieces of cloth that I find in my house?
I don't know.
But they looked pretty neat. Therefore, I took a picture.

The beautiful Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois. I love Chicago.
This was taken in the summer of 2005. I was with my sister on the Chicago River and I had to quickly take this picture because we were about to go under a bridge.
I think it turned out well.
